Dr. Letts - BIO
Dr. Letts is an operations, leadership, and organizational excellence management consultant. Prior to founding Cleonmaye Corp. a management consulting and research & development firm, Dr. Letts served as a business advisor at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Small Business Center is a premier non-profit business technical assistance organization funded in part by the US Small Business Administration. During his tenure at the SBDC, Dr. Letts worked within the construct of public, private, partnerships (PPP) to bring free services to the small business community.
One of the responsibilities that Dr. Letts had during his tenure at the SBDC was the position of the Veterans Business Outreach Coordinator (VBOC). The VBOC was funded by the US Department of Defense, and Dr. Letts was responsible for the geographic area of New York City and the state of New Jersey to assist veteran-owned companies. Another responsibility was serving as the veteran’s business advisor in an effort to bolster business participation from the veteran community. To meet that goal, Dr. Letts worked with many organizations throughout New York City that focus on veterans in many different areas. Some of the organizations that Dr. Letts worked with included the chambers of commerce, Business Libraries, the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs, now Department of Veteran Services, and the Ft. Hamilton Army Community Services (ACS) and Leadership.
Dr. Letts also worked with a major bank as a business banking relationship manager. As a business banker coupled with his background at the SBDC, Dr. Letts helped many business owners to get the capital that they needed and provided sound advice to help them succeed. Even after leaving the bank many of the clients still seek Dr. Letts for advice and some have retained his services to help their business grow. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Letts works closely with the startup community and serves as a board advisor to some scalable technology companies.
